Texas Institute for Surgery at PHD Hosts Legislators.

During the month of August, Texas Institute for Surgery at Presbyterian Hospital of Dallas (TIS) hosted a number of legislative visitors from both the State and Federal level.  U.S. Senators Kay Bailey- Hutchison and Senator John Cornyn, as well as State Representatives Jim Jackson District 115 and Allen Vaught District 107 toured TIS on separate occasions.  In addition, TIS physicians and hospital representatives from Texas Health Resources, Presbyterian Hospital of Dallas, TpHR, USPI, Baylor Frisco and USMD were also present.

TIS President, Debbie Hay and physician governmental liaison Dr. John Gill were able to present these legislators with facts on how physician-owned hospitals work.  The partnership between large hospital systems and physician owned facilities work together to deliver safe, quality patient care. The visits were very productive and demonstrated the positive impact of specialty hospitals both in patient care and the community.
